Frequently asked questions
Basic registration is for businesses with turnover up to Rs. 12 lakh, the State licence covers turnover between Rs. 12 lakh and Rs. 20 crore, and the Central licence is for turnover above Rs. 20 crore or for importers and large operators.
A licence can be issued for one to five years, at your choice. It must be renewed before expiry to avoid penalty and disruption to your business.
Yes. Even small food businesses, including home-based and cloud kitchens, need at least a Basic FSSAI registration to operate legally.
Yes. The FSSAI licence number must be displayed at your premises and printed on food packaging and bills as required.
